Where does the popularity of the vampire facelift come from?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), i.e. an autologous concentrate of platelets in a small amount of plasma, is obtained from the patient's own blood. Treatments with the use of PRP initiate repair processes leading to the renewal and revitalization of the skin. Platelets are a source of substances that stimulate intensive tissue repair, cell division, stimulate the production of new collagen as well as the formation and growth of blood vessels. The effect of mesotherapy with platelet-rich plasma is the reduction of shallow wrinkles, increased elasticity and improvement of facial skin tone.
Vampire facelift can be an alternative to other rejuvenating treatments in the case of the risk of an allergic reaction and intolerance (PRP, obtained from the patient's own blood, practically does not pose such a threat).
Treatments with the use of platelet-rich plasma begin with the collection of blood from the patient, which is mixed with an anticoagulant and placed in special test tubes. Due to appropriate centrifugation, the platelet layer can be extracted with a small amount of plasma and administered to the patient. Preparation of PRP usually takes several to several minutes.
The obtained autologous platelet concentrate in a small amount of plasma is sterile and safe for the patient. After insertion into the syringe, the doctor performs the classic mesotherapy treatment, evenly puncturing and injecting the skin of the face (and neck).
Vampire facelift is usually performed under local anesthesia - the anesthetic cream is applied to the skin about 20 minutes before the injection of the skin with platelet-rich plasma.
After the treatment, appropriate skin cleansing methods and the use of photoprotection (UV) are recommended.
The procedure performed in sterile conditions by an experienced nurse is a very safe therapeutic method. Platelet-rich plasma is a fully biocompatible material, which practically excludes the risk of allergies or intolerances. After a vampire facelift, transient erythema, slight swelling and bruising at the site of PRP injection may occur. Most of the side effects disappear within the first 72 hours after the procedure (bruising - within a few days).
Nevertheless, as with any procedure, there may be contraindications to mesotherapy with platelet-rich plasma, such as: acute and chronic infections
sepsis
pregnancy and breastfeeding
blood clotting disorders
cancer and autoimmune diseases
taking medications that prolong bleeding time (e.g. anticoagulants, acetylsalicylic acid - the popular aspirin).
Vampire facelift does not require limitation of life activity. Injection traces disappear on their own; the recovery period is short.
Makeup should not be applied for approx. 12 hours after the treatment. Avoid using the sauna and solarium for the period indicated by your injector. During the first days after a vampire facelift, exposure to the sun's rays is inadvisable. The rules of protection against UV radiation must be strictly adhered to.
